More careful counting with this lovely maths activity. There’s something about the hole punches that the children find fascinating and this activity is a firm favourite! The idea is that children punch the correct number of holes in the paper. It sounds simple, but there’s normally a queue of children waiting for a free hole punch. As well as a great maths activity, the fiddly hole punches are super for practising motor control. It takes quite a lot of concentration to make the holes correctly and neatly. The hole punches themselves actually weren’t that expensive and have lasted quite well. This activity would also work by sticking stickers onto the paper slices, or dabbing with a bingo marker or other pens.
