Messy maths: playdough

Playdough is one of our favourite class resources and my children love when it is an option at maths stations. Here the children used playdough to form the number and show it on a tens frame. I have seen some lovely and more colourful versions of the same idea on other teaching blogs. If I’m not using these mats for playdough, the children can put cubes on the tens frame and use a white board pen to practise writing the number.
